About Chillin On Da Corner Chillin on da Corner & Beyond is an outdoor film screening series that showcases feature length, documentaries and short films in the Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn community. The goal is to empower this community to bridge the gap that divides socially & economically from other communities. Chillin on da Corner has made a commitment to showcase films that visually stimulate minds, inspire change within and transform the perceptions of the entire community. The mission is to go beyond merely showcasing films and to provide an overall experience in arts, culture, health, education, job training, self empowerment and other resources that deprive underprivileged communities. In urban areas chilling on the corner has a negative connotation of hanging out and being mischief. We wanted to take the same phrase and apply it to watching films in the parking lots, centers and parks near the corners as a community, which will inspire beyond the negative influences.
